« We're nearly there: Firefox 3 RC 1 is now available | Main | Test software and host a virtual PC with Virtual PC 2007 SP1 »
Backup applications are fine if you can find and select the files you want to backup. The problem is, most users have no idea how applications such as Mozilla Firefox or Thunderbird store their preferences. Where are the bookmarks located, for example? The problem is that we spend ages configuring applications such as our browser and email client and we won't want to lose this information.
MozBackup 1.4.8 is a free backup tool designed for Mozilla applications (Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, Sunbird etc) that enables you to automatically backup and then restore your bookmarks, preferences, personal configuration and more. Simple tool, but an ideal way of storing preferences for applications where you can't easily see the files you need to backup. The latest version includes Firefox 3 in the list of Mozilla applications it will support.
