This machine is a hybrid Mac/Windows system, with Windows running on a Bootcamp partition. Works well, with few issues. However, I'd much rather boot in to Mac OS X and use this as my day-to-day operating system. Snag is, there are still things that I can't do so easily using the Mac. There is Windows virtualisation, but I often end up back in Windows as my work is far more Windows specific. For Linux users, there is a solution where you can run Windows native apps on top of the operating system.
Wine 1.0 is an application layer that enables you to run certain Windows apps on top of Linux, without having to have Windows installed. Crossover Mac is a similar tool for Mac OS X, which will even enable you to run Microsoft Office 2003 on your Mac.
