If you use certain freeware or shareware applications, you often find they are updated fairly often, monthly or sometimes even weekly. These 'updates' may not be major, but they make software more stable. If you don't regularly visit download sites or software publisher's sites, it may be more difficult to recognise newer versions of installed software. A useful and convenient way of keeping software updated is to use an auto-update tool, so you don't have to check manually.
UpdateStar 2.2.614 Beta is auto-update tool that will find updates for applications installed on your PC. Inevitably, it's not likely to find updates for all software installed on your machine, but this will improve as we see newer versions of the software. It also looks good, borrowing the ribbon interface from Office 2007.
