It's here! Acronis True Image 2009 is finally released

For some reason, Acronis True Image is immensely popular. Only recently, I was reminiscing with the guys at Acronis that, back in 2002 they were a very small 4 man company based out of the States. Now they produce some of the more popular drive backup and system restore applications, for both home and corporate use.

Acronis True Image 2009 is now available and this tool will enable you to both backup and restore your drive and partitions. The latest version ships with a brand new user-interface, based on a Vista-style design, support for compressed ZIP backup files and one-click suport, so you can setup your backup, then click a button to backup your files.

Acronis is a great product. It's fantastic for creating a disk image so that you can recover your operating system in the event of a hard disk crash. However, it's important to ensure that you keep an up-to-date, off-site copy of your data as well. For that reason, for added protection I would recommend backing up your data files using an online backup service.
