Rather than work with multiple monitors, it's far easier to open more than one desktop workspace and then quickly switch between each open workspace. For example, you could open your email client full-screen on workspace, an image editor on another and keep your main desktop for your browser and other small apps. A quick keyboard shortcut would enable you to jump to any workspace within seconds.
WindowsPager 0.39 is an early experimental version of desktop workspace switching software that will place a small grab of each open window within your System Tray and enable you to point your mouse at the screen you want to switch to. Of course, you can also assign the usual keyboard shortcut. Remember this is still experimental. You may be better using the official
Microsoft Desktops application instead.
