Access Google services on the move with Google2GO

Screengrab Ideally we'd only use one device to manage all our services, whilst we're on the move. Talk phone calls, send SMS messages, write email, browse the web and store portable apps, files and more. The problem is that there isn't quite a device that is suitable for all these purposes. The iPhone won't work in 'disk mode' for example. Another alternative is a Windows-based mobile device and then install the third party tools you require.

Google2GO is free tool for Windows Mobile devices that enables you to access your Google services whilst you are on the move. This includes Gmail, the docs service, news, search and more. We're not hosting or linking to this on vnunet.com as yet, as it appears to use Apple iPhone icons within the application so is likely to hear from Apple, any day now...

View travel guides from your computer with Schmap Player

Screenshot_2 If you're a keen traveller, you've probably got travel books, recommendations, photos and much more, all over your house. Wouldn't it be great if you could collate this information, digitally store it on your computer and then refer to this information when you're planning on further travel.

Schmap Player 2 is a digital based travel guide that will enable you to download guides for towns and areas, from the Schmap website, and store them on your computer. You can browse for local sights, top places to shop, to stay and much more. However, although the travel guides are well presented, some of the information can be a bit scarce and a little out of date.
